Erie is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Erie follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Smugglers’ Wharf was such a pleasant surprise. The fresh‑caught fish changes daily, so definitely ask your server. The calamari made from small squid was incredibly tender, and the mushroom side was so flavorful that it’s a must‑order. The peanut butter pie with peanut‑butter ice cream and a crunchy crust was outstanding, while the coconut shrimp was more average. The view of the lake and lighthouse adds a beautiful touch to the meal. I enjoyed everything so much that I would absolutely come back to this restaurant again.

Absolutely amazing place and good. Sadly we went when the outside area was being renovated. First, had the baked catch of the day. The snapper was beautifully cooked, seasoned, and plated. My date tried the walleye, and it was the exact same. We also had the calamari for an app and that was delicious. (Note that picture was after we started eating it, there was more on the plate when it came out.) Second, staff was so friendly and attentive. Great people and great service. Their peanut butter pie was exquisite. I wanted to take a whole thing home (don't know if you can or can't). The place is on the pier, parking can be difficult but I highly recommend pushing through it. Their menu is layed out and detailed of what you're getting. Even the drink menu. In the end we want to come back when we visit again. Completely worth the price!

Stopped in on a road trip because we wanted a spot in the water. This is a great location! We visited in April, so it wasn’t ideal weather, but this spot in the summer would be exceptional! The service was friendly and efficient and our food arrived quickly. We both ordered fish sandwiches and they were massive! Nothing fancy, but all ingredients were fresh, and well presented. Not a fancy, pretentious place, but good real food. The venue itself feels authentic and wholesome with bar and restaurant seating and lots of windows. And even some brightly coloured fish tanks! If passing through in the summer, I’d definitely return! (Especially since it appears that there is some substantial renovations being done in the area!)

This place is adorable and such a vibe. My husband took me here for my birthday dinner when we took a day trip to Erie. Right on the lake. Great service! Our waitress was so nice. The lobster roll was delicious and I had a strawberry daiquiri that was so good. I will definitely be back.

Smugglers' Wharf GOOD: Food quality, service and atmosphere BAD: Price heavy on sides and starters I loved my experience at Smuggler's Wharf. The food was delicious, the service fast and friendly and the location is pristine. The bay views make the already cozy interior even better. It loses a star because they really put the squeeze on when it comes to simple things like french fries. Fries are cheap to make and a customer favorite. Your options are 9.00 starter or additional 5.00 when you pay for a sandwich - hard pass. It worked out because the potato salad they offer free is bonkers good. The other thing I didn't like is they charge 9 for a cup (ouch) then 10 for a bowl of soup. I ordered the bowl - very tiny little thing. My two cents, get a nice glass of wine (if that's your jam) and a quality entree. Iam going back for the carbonara very soon.
